\"\"The National Cadet Corps in collaboration with other sister youth groups this year commemorated the 59th Republic Day youth parade at the Back Star Square<\/div>\n

This year’s commemoration was under the theme: “A United Youth, Pre-Requisite for National Development” and had 9,500 cadets and youth groups from all the 16 Regions participating.<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Most Participating contingents arrived three days before the day and were accommodated at various sister schools in the Greater Accra Region.<\/div>\n

Heads of various embassies and higher commission such as the US Ambassador, the German Ambassador, Japanese Ambassador,Burkinab\u00e8 High commissioner, Korea Ambassadors, The Deputy Canadian High commissioner, the Russian Ambassador etc were present together with the  Chief of Staff at the presidency who was the reviewing officer and the former president of Ghana, J. J. Rawlings to grace the occasion as the Special Guest.<\/div>\n

In a speech read by the National cadet Coordinator General N.N. Tettey-Amarteifio on the purpose of the occasion he mentioned that a time has come for government to give more attention to the youth and set aside a  day for the youth to adopt a day as a national youth day. Regardless of the day being a Holiday the youth should come to to commemorate the republic day like the National Cadet has started. He encouraged all to remain very Nationalistic and lift up the flag of Ghana very high. <\/div>\n

\"\"  \"\"The Chief of Staff Hon. Akosua Frema Opare mentioned that, a time has come for the security services to give attention to the cadet corps and other youth organization when they are recruiting or enlisting personnel  into the service. She also mentioned that Government will do all it can to support the youth in all their endeavor in achieving a peaceful and united youth front. She stated that corporate Ghana and individuals should avail themselves when the cadet and youth organization call on them for support because the Government can not do it all alone.<\/div>\n

In all, a total of over one hundred and fifty eight (158) institutions with a contingent of sixty (60) participants made up of bands men and women and parade contingent were present.<\/div>\n

The event started at 8 : 00 am and ended at 10 : 00 am at the Black Star Square<\/div>\n
