The Headquarters of the National Cadet Corps has mobilized volunteer cadets to support the Presidential2-Day Post-Flood Clean-Up Exercise organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs. The exercise, held on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th July 2026, forms part of a national directive to clean and restore flood-affected communities across the country.
In line with the directive, members of the Cadet Corps joined sister security agencies and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to clean affected environments. Meanwhile, school-based cadets worked alongside their school authorities to clean their respective school premises. In the Greater Accra Region, about 200 volunteer cadets were deployed for the exercise. The team also received support in the form of branded reflectors from the National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP).
The clean-up exercise was highly successful and demonstrated the Corps’ commitment to discipline, service, and national development. The national cadet coordinator General N.N Tettey-Amarteifio in an interview stated that ”the National Cadet Corps remains dedicated to shaping responsible and patriotic cadet corps who are ready to serve the nation in times of need”.
