As part of the plans to strengthen the music section of the National Cadet Corps and to promote good cultural behaviour through music, a one week music training camp was held for volunteer staff and some members of the cadet band from Sunday 10th to Friday 15th December 2023 .
The participants who were from various regions in the country were taken through basic cadet band ceremonies, how to write and read the music score, types of band, uniform expected and the role of the band.
The participants enjoyed their one week educational music camping and urge the headquarters of the National cadet to frequently organise more of such training for them at local levels.
In a closing remark the assistant Headmistress of the school congratulated the participants for undergoing a successful camp.
The National Cadet Coordinator N. N. Tettey-Amarteifio advised the participants to take to heart what they learned at the camp and to keep practising it at home. He also encouraged the participants to abide by rules and regulations and to be upright citizens. He reminded them that Ghana Cadet Band is about making history with the music section on the international market and all members will have the opportunity to benefit from it.
Ghana has been invited to compete in the world band competition to be held in Germany 2024. The selection will start soon after some of our instructors come back from a music conference in the United State of America this year.
