
The office of the Volta Regional Cadet Corps organized it’s 6th regional mountaineering program at Mt. Gemi, Amedzofe, on the 14th of October, 2017. The program saw one thousand and three hundred student cadets from across the region.
The participating schools include:Â Kpantec, Kpasec, Biheco, Spaco, Dzolosec, Dzosec, Taviefe SHS, Tanyigbe SHS, Kpeve SHS, Kpasa SHS, Nkwanta SHS, Sokode SHS, Mawuli SHS, Abor SHS, Akatsi SHTS, Worawora SHS, Hepps, Ntrobuman SHS, ANSECO, Ketasco, Ketabusco, Zico among others.
A total of one thousand three hundred and twenty (1,320) student drawn from twenty six (26) schools participated in the programme. The program was under the command of the Regional 2IC and supervised by the regional coordinator Gabriel Akpa. The Region was also privileged to have the presence of the Chief Staff Officer from HQ, NCC Derrick Clottey to be the special Guest for the exercise.
The volunteers from the regional red cross collaborated to provide emergency response duties during the period. By the grace of the almighty, the program ended successfully without any casualties.
The mountaineering exercise at Mt. Gemi at Amedzofe was very historical.
