As part of the activities to promote stronger bilateral relationship between the National Cadet Corps and the UK army cadet, two officers Lt Col Terry Hayter and Capt Lawrence Bolt of the army cadet force of the UK have arrived in Ghana for a 4 day official visit. The team is currently at the Jungle Warfare School for a RECCE after which they will proceed further to tour Cape Cost in the central region then Ada in the Greater Accra Region.
The team is expected to leave Accra on Monday after paying a courtesy call on the government together with some officials of the National Cadet Corps Ghana.
Lt. Conl Terry Hraty and his counterpart called on the Director General of the Ghana Education service in his office at the Headquarters as part of their official RECCE TO Ghana the team briefed the Director General on their mission and plans for an expedition to Ghana in October or next year April.
They also called on the ministry of youth and sports .They were received by the Chief Director together with other directors of the ministry on behalf of the Honorable Minister.
The Chief Director seized the opportunity to brief the team on he government’s plan to get back the volunteer youth corps building which is occupied by the Accra majestic court close to the Ghana scout Association for the National Cadet corps Ghana.
He also encouraged the National Cadet corps to look at strengthening the Cadets from age 18 and above and leaving the younger ones for the Ghana scout and Girls Guide Association.
