TAMALE GIRLS SHS PAGNAA POLICE CADET WINNERS OF SECTOR DRILL COMPETITION

The headquarters, of the Northern Sector Cadet Corps, of Ghana on Sunday 15th May, 2022, held its 4th annual Sector Drill competition at the Jubilee Park in Tamale. The Drill Competition which was under the theme “Revitalizing Academic Excellence through Drill and Discipline” was graced by cadet Corps from 23 schools drawn from Nothern, Savannah, North East and Upper East Regions of the Nothern Sector respectively, except the Upper West Region which had no participating school.

The Northern Sector Coordinator, Cdt Major Ing. Samuel Osei Asare in his welcome address said the the creation of the Cadet Corps was to channel the youthful and abundant energies of our students into useful and productive avenues of life and to make them aware of the discipline and order of respect for constituted authority which they must apply in all aspect of their lives and circumstances.

The occasion was graced by the special guests of honour the Municipal Chief Executive Officer (MCE) for Sagnarigu, Hon. Ahmed Yakubu Mohammed who represented the Hon. Northern Regional Minister, the Northern Regional Director of Education Dr. Peter Attafuah, a former Northern Regional Education Director, Alhaji Mohammad Haroon (Alhaji Cambodia) and the Headmaster of Ambariyya Senior High School in Tamale. Five schools were expected to have qualified to represent the Northern Sector in the grand finale of the National Cadet Corps Drill Competition in Accra on 29th June, 2022.

At the end of the immaculate drill competion, Tamale Girls Senior High School Police Cadet Corps were adjudged the winners of the 4th Northern Sector Cadet Drill Competition with Navrongo Senior High School Army Cadet Corps placing Second, Kalpohini Senior High School Army Cadet Corps placing third, Dabopka Senior High School placing fourth and Zamse Senior High / Technical School placing Fifth in the competition.
