The National Cadet Corps in collaboration with the Homecourt Hoops a public charity based in the United States of America 501(c)(3) who works with corporate sponsors and grassroots partners to help grow basketball in Ghana and also develop basketball in educational institutions has renovated the basketball court of the University of Ghana Medical School (UGMS)hostel in Korle Bu.
This forms part of the social responsibility of Homecourt Hoops to encourage basketball development at the grassroot level.
The project which lasted for three (3) days was fully funded by the Homecourt Hoops with technical and administrative support from the National Cadet Corps headquarters in Ghana.
BEFORE THE RENOVATION:




In the long run, it is planned that this cooperation would expand to include some medical students exchange programmes, such as receiving some medical students who enjoy basketball in Ghana for a period of time and sending some students to the United States of America for summer programmes.
The dean of the medical school professor Alfred E. Yawson received the team and expressed gratitude to the National Cadet Corps Ghana and Homecourt Hoops for identifying the medical school to benefit from this gesture. He stated that the class of 2002 did the major renovation some few years ago and that they are happy for the maintenance at this time.

Dr. Keziah Malm the Programme Manager, National Malaria Elimination and Doctor Dr. Kwame Adu-Bonsaffo Senior Lecturer / Consultant, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Ghana Medical School / Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital received the project on behalf of Prof. Alfred E Yawson Dean of Medical School University of Ghana Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, expressing gratitude towards the National Cadet Corps and Homecourt Hoops for a good job done within the three (3) day period and assured the team of its good use.

The Student President of University of Ghana Medical School (UGMS) Mr. Frank Tsikata stated that the student least expected the renovation at this difficult time when the economy is hard and thanked the group for the gesture on behalf of the student.
