VOLTA REGION MINISTER OPENED NAT. CADET LEADERSHIP TRAING CAMP 2025 AT SOGKOFE

 The Volta Region Minister, Hon. James Gunu, formally opened the National Cadet Leadership Training Camp, which began on Saturday, October 18, 2025, and ran through Saturday, October 25. The camp brought together leaders from cadet schools across the country. In a speech on his behalf, Hon. Victoria Dzeklo, the District Chief Executive of South Tongu, urged the cadet corps’ leadership to instill in them a sense of patriotism and discipleship so that they can be outstanding student leaders and positively influence their friends. She stated that, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama the President of the Republic and the government have good intentions for the youth and urges them to law abiding citizens at all times.

In the speech by Mr. Nicholas Nii Tettey-Amartefio, the National Cadet Coordinator General. He urged the government and other interested parties to support the cadet corps more so that they can do more to encourage discipline in the nation’s educational institutions.

According to Mr. Tettey-Amartefio, the cadet corps program in our schools, when properly supported, will significantly reduce indiscipline in our educational institutions and improve holistic education in the basic institutions. He said that the canker of indiscipline in various schools across the country has become a major concern for Ghanaians in recent years.

At the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Leadership Training Camp, which drew over 700 participants from basic, secondary, and tertiary institutions throughout the sixteen (16) regions, took place on Monday 20th October 2025.

 

To maintain high standards of discipline in our educational institutions, Mr. Tettey-Amartefio emphasized that the cadets’ leadership training camp would undoubtedly change the participants’ lives into that of disciplined students who would also influence the lives of other students in their respective institutions.
