Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa appointed as the Acting Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES).

President Nana Akufo-Addo has appointed Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa as the Acting Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES).

He took over office on the 15th May 2017 after the H.E. the President has been advice by governing council of the Service in consultation with the Public Service Commission.
Prof. Opoku-Amankwa has taking over from Mr. Jacob Kor who was appointed to the office two years ago.
Until his appointment, Prof. Opoku-Amankwa was the Dean of International Programmes at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
He had also served as the Head of the Department of Publishing Studies at KNUST.
Between 2012 and 2014, he served as the Dean of the school’s Faculty of Art.
In various previous engagements, he worked as a journalist, communications specialist, and a teacher. He also became a member of the National  Cadet Board
