The National Cadet Leadership Training Camp (NCLTC) which is annual event for school cadets and youth  in the country was official opened by the District Chief Executive of the Jaman North District of the Brong Ahafo region, Hon. ADANE ANKOMAH who represented the regional minister. In his speech he commended the cadet corps for initiating the camp that brings young people together during the long school vacation and stated that government will continue to support the National Cadet Corps through the appropriate agencies in the country. The Camp Commandant Captain Joseph Mborti from the Central Command of the Armed Forces ceased the opportunity to talk about the purpose of the camp and why the Armed Forces has committed resources to train the participants in the camp. He mentioned that the cadets are the future leaders and an integral part of the Armed Forces  and as such  military training which is modified to suit young people and given at the appropriate time and place could help create and orderly society. He added that this could go a long way to encourage the spirit of discipline and patriotism to build a better nation.
The Officer Commanding the Headquarters Company at the camp, Cadet Captain Asare S.O led the various companies in wonderful Jama music to introduce the guest.
The Gyasehene for Sampa Nana Sie Kwesi who represented the Elders and people of Sampa, in his opening remarks as the chairman of the opening ceremony of the NCLTC 2017 expressed his gratitude to the government for selecting Nafana Presbyterian Senior High School to host this year’s National Cadet Leadership Training Camp and wished the participants a pleasant stay. Nana Sie Kwesi assured them the support of the chief and elders of the community. The headmaster Mr Yaw Anane in his welcome address reminded the participants that in 2 years the school will be 40 years so appealed for government support to complete the ongoing project in the school. He assured the cadets of the support from the board of the school and the management.
In an interview, the National Cadet Coordinator General N. N Tettey Amartefio mentioned that this is one of the largest and successful camps for a long time with a total of about one thousand (1,000) cadets comprising cadets, drivers, teachers, military personnel and volunteer cadets from all the ten(10) regions of Ghana. He mentioned that although one regional director sent a message round telling some schools not to allow their students participate in the camp irrespective of a directive issued by the Director General of education officially inviting school cadets across the country to participate in the camp.
