The Community youth peace durbar 2020 took place at the Regional Coordinating Council Conference Hall in the Savanna Region, Gonja West on the 16th of October, 2020 with over 167 participants in attendance.
The regional Chief Imam Sheik Zakari Mohammed led the gathering in the opening prayers and welcome address with a call on all participants to embrace peace and the stability we are enjoying in the country. He also made a call to all the youth present and those listening via the internet and other social media handles, to pay no heed to the negative political influences that goes on whenever elections are due. He however advised them to keep praying for everlasting peace for the country Ghana.
The representative of the Regional Police Commander, Inspector Joseph in answering questions during that segment confidently told the youth present that, the police are fully equipped and prepared to professionally discharge their duties in ensuring an incident free elections before, during and the 2020 elections.
Mr. Nicholas Nii Tettey Amarteifio, the National Cadet Coordinator General in a vote of thanks reiterated the essence of peace enshrined both the Holy Bible and the Holy Quran. He further beseeched the youth to take their studies, whatever profession or trade they are engaged in very diligently to make it in life – they cannot disappoint their families, their children and the society
